CARA focuses on family planning and sexual reproductive health as an integral health frame work that links to maternal and child health, HIV prevention and treatment and other health areas.
Family planning is a proven health effective intervention that empowers both men and women to exercise their right to make voluntary and informal decisions about the number, spacing and timing of pregnancy and child bearing.
It also contributes to reduction in unwanted pregnancies, maternal and child death, malnutrition, poverty and spread of HIV AIDS and to economic development and environmental protection. As mention above CARA is committed to reduction of child and forced marriages, early and un wanted pregnancies sexual harassment and abuse among others. This is done through use of different approaches; promotion of use of contraceptives, sensitization meetings, empowerment skills and more others.
